Business Studies

Years 9, 10 and 11 

Business Studies is a vocational subject that enables students to learn more about the Business world and offers preparation for entering the working environment. The course offers students the chance to gain new skills and become confident in their own abilities. Students opting for this course need to be enthusiastic, committed and should have an interest in areas of Business.

In Year 9 students will enjoy a taster of the BTEC Award in Business, to be studied in Year 10 and 11.  Year 9 students will be taught the basics of each of the four units, to offer them the foundation knowlege when entering into Year 10 to take GCSE level.  

The department offers students the chance to study the BTEC Award level 2 in Business Studies as an optional choice when entering Year 10 and has an allocation of 5 hours per fortnight. The course includes:
