Dodgeball World Cup
Our very own Miss Suzanne Vickers, Science Teacher, took part in the Dodgeball World Cup on 16th and 17th April for Northern Ireland.
The team qualified on Friday to take part in the event in Manchester over the weekend and finished 7th overall.
Miss Vickers was voted Northern Ireland player of the tournament by her team!
Miss Vickers said:
“It was a fantastic experience to play in the World Cup, especially here in Manchester! The event was brilliant and it was really exciting to play teams such as Malaysia, the USA and Egypt who had travelled so far.”
The academy has a girls’ dodgeball club on Tuesday at lunchtime, and a boys’ club on Friday at the same time.
She added:
“Our pupils are really enthusiastic about dodgeball and I'm looking forward to teaching them the World Rules in dodgeball club. I think they will enjoy them as it's very fast paced with 5 balls in play at once!”
