Help with Handwriting

The academy's Year 11 prefects have been helping out younger students with their handwriting.

The prefects mentor Year 7 and 8 students every morning before school, to help them increase their confidence with writing.

Matthew Collantine, one of the Year 11 mentors, explained:

“Helping the younger students not only gives them the chance to concentrate on their

writing, but also provides the Year 11 students with a worthwhile addition to their CVs and college applications. It is nice to make a connection with the younger students so that the atmosphere around school is more friendly.”

Daniel Newsome, a Year 7 student said:

“Spending time with my mentor has been really helpful. My handwriting has got much better and I am more confident with it now.”
