Academy staff tackle Greater Manchester Marathon

Massive congratulations to Mrs Breen, AP Teaching and Learning, Mr Wexler, Head of Maths, and Mr Fair, Vice Principal Outcomes on their marathon effort on Sunday 10th April!

It was a day of perfect weather and a great atmosphere for the trio as they set off with 9,500 runners.

Mrs Breen said:

“It was an amazing experience.  However, as the weather was so nice it made it much tougher than I anticipated but the crowd kept me going. I cannot explain the relief and sense of achievement I felt when I saw that finishing line. I am proud of our achievements and I’m glad I did it!”

The trio were an inspiration with their athletic achievement, as well as their fundraising – Mr Wexler raised £350 for St Anne’s Hospice and Mrs Breen collected £420 for Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Mr Wexler added:

“I would do it again as I quite enjoyed it up until about 24 miles!”
