Chocolate’s the prize as Salford City Academy stages Easter Egg Hunt

The search was on yesterday (1st April) when local primary school pupils took part in Salford City Academy's first ever Easter Egg hunt.

Academy prefects and student council members acted as guides, with those taking part rewarded with chocolate eggs when successfully following the clues.  The primary school visitors also enjoyed a variety of Easter-themed arts and crafts, face-painting and refreshments.

Donna Shevlin who accompanied her son Kieran to the event said:

Kieran really enjoyed the egg hunt. It was also a great opportunity to show him around the Academy.

The event was aimed at pupils and families from the Academy's feeder primary schools, with other activities including arts and crafts stalls and a prize draw.

Each visitor also completed an Easter crossword for a chance to enter a prize draw, with Barton Moss primary school pupil Courtney Collantine, age 10, winning a giant chocolate bunny!

Salford City Academy Principal Helen Mackenzie OBE said:

The Easter Egg hunt has been a fantastic success and forms part of our transitional programme, which sees us working closely with our feeder primary schools and their pupils to help familiarise them with the Academy, helping with the move from primary to secondary education.
