Exam Performance 2012

Celebrating GCSE Results
  • 93% - 5 or more A*-C grades
  • 34% - 3 or more A*-A grades

93% of students achieved five or more A* to C grades and 44% of students achieved these grades including English and maths.  An impressive one third of students (33.3%) achieved three or more A* to A grades - up from 19% last year.

Mike Cording, Principal of Salford City Academy, said:

"We are particularly pleased with the progress shown in the number of A*s and As we achieved.  This is important as it signifies the high standards we are setting for students and they are setting for themselves.  These results bode well for their entry to the academy's Sixth Form which, as last week's results showed, is going from strength to strength.

"I am delighted for the students who have worked so hard over the past year and thank the staff for their tireless work in helping students achieve these results."

Full Marks for the Sixth Form - Again!

  • 100% pass rate (A* - E grades)
  • 100% university success (for those who applied)

For the fourth consecutive year A Level students are celebrating extraordinary success by achieving a 100% pass rate and 100% of those who applied to university received offers.  Over half of entries achieved A* to B grades.

Mike Cording adds:

"Our Year 13s have earned the highest grades and made the most outstanding progress of any cohort so far, and for that we are immensely proud of our students and our Sixth Form.

"This year group have thrived in our positive and vibrant atmosphere, and have shown commitment to their courses and to the opportunities we offer them.

"To maintain our 100% success rate for the fourth year running illustrates, yet again, our students' incredible work ethic and also the individual support and dedication we give to all our students. Furthermore, the outstanding results this year are a credit to the enormous efforts of staff and students and a real cause for celebration."
