Duke of Edinburgh Expedition to Bakewell

On Friday 20th June the Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh group set off to Bakewell to complete their final expedition to complete their Bronze award, and show off their new skills in campcraft, map reading and teamwork.

The students worked exceptionally well throughout the course and took part in a range of activities over a six month period including charity fundraising, physical activity and learning new skills. The group showed a great deal of determination to navigate around the routes in blistering hot conditions and worked well together to help each other complete the challenge.

Hollie Warburton who attended the expedition, said:

“Duke of Edinburgh was exciting and challenging. I particularly enjoyed the expedition, especially when the group all played volleyball together at the campsite.”

For anyone in Year 9 who is interested in doing the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award next year, please see Mr Davies for more information.
