Festive Family Fun

Our transition team have been extremely busy carrying out Family Art Workshops at our local primary schools.

Beech Street, St Andrews, Barton Moss, Christ Church, Lewis Street and Westwood park pupils and their parents were invited to attend a whole morning of festive arts and crafts.

The workshops ran over two weeks and the team, Transition Co-ordinator Rachel Lyons and Mentors Wendy Hutton, Suzanne Vickers and Megan Dwyer, were on hand with tinsel and glitter for a range of activities.

Parents and pupils created Christmas calendars, cards, decorations, and bookmarks and the children were delighted to have their faces painted as well!

Rachel Lyons, Transition Co-ordinator, said:

“It was a great opportunity for families to spend some festive one-on-one time with their children; everyone had a great time.”

“We also spoke to lots of parents about life at the Academy and the transition from primary to secondary.”

The team received great feedback about the workshops and all the festive treats they were able to take home!
