Year 7 Gifted and Talented students watch Halle Orchestra performance
On Thursday 3rd March, a group of Year 7 students visited Bridgewater Hall to see the Halle Orchestra perform.
In a special workshop, students heard various musical pieces to celebrate science and the industrial revolution.
The orchestra played pieces and organisers handed out scratch and sniff cards to enhance the performances and overall experience, for example, the theme from ‘Superman’ and the associated smell was ‘kryptonite’!
Music Teacher Emma-Louise Drummond said:
“Year 7 have been learning about orchestras and instruments, from bassoons to organs, in music lessons so the trip was a fantastic extension to their learning.”
