Year 10 peer teaching scheme introduced in Science

Science have introduced a new scheme this term which tasks more able students with teaching their peers to improve outcomes for all.

The more able students have been participating in the peer teaching scheme to enhance their learning, retention of knowledge and improve their communication skills.

Every Tuesday lunchtime, students meet with Mr Janiak, Science Teacher, to revise a learning topic.  For this 6 week period it is ‘energy’.  They then meet with students from other sets the following morning to disseminate the lesson.

Mr Rodgers, Head of Science, said:

“Our peer teachers are highly motivated, their attendance to sessions is fantastic, they are keen to help themselves and work with others in an incredibly positive way.  We will be reviewing their progress soon and hopefully the enthusiasm and hard work will have paid off for them”
