Health and Social Care students visit UCLAN

On 21st October, Sixth Form students travelled to UCLAN Preston to take part in a Health and Social Care Experience Day.

Year 12 and 13 students sampled typical lessons from health and social care communication to nursing skills, such as practicing resuscitation on baby and adult mannequins.

They also took part in activities which asked them to create images to explain different types of care.

To showcase university life, students also enjoyed a tour of the campus.

Debra Needham, Health and Social Care teacher said:

“It was a fantastic day all round in terms of learning more about Health and Social Care at university but it also raised some of our students’ interest in nursing.”
