As usual the academy celebrated World Book Day, offering students a selection of free books as well as a £1 book token!
As usual the academy celebrated World Book Day, offering students a selection of free books as well as a £1 book token!
We also invited back ‘Scream Street' author Tommy Donbavand to inspire our Year 7s to produce some spooky story ideas!
During the writing workshop Tommy asked students to think up themes, locations and characters and showed them how to put these together to come up with scarily good storylines.
Tommy also read from one his books and invited students to ask questions - they asked how he became an author and learnt how his book is being made into a TV series.
All students were invited to pop into the library at lunch to meet Tommy. He was extremely popular and students asked if we can invite him back soon!
