Primary art workshops at Salford City Academy

Salford City Academy has been getting creative with Year 6 primary school children from the local area.

We invited pupils from our seven local feeder schools to join us at the academy for Primary Art Workshops throughout October.

In small groups the children have been visiting the academy and taking part in an art session to express themselves as well as meet their new academy Year 7 Peer Mentors.

Our Peer Mentors answered lots of questions about starting high school, tying ties and looking at academy planners.  Many Year 6s were keen to know how our new Year 7s have settled in to life at secondary school.

In the next half term, our Peer Mentors will receive additional training before visiting the Year 6s at primary school.

Finally, our visitors joined in the fun of our lunchtime Games Club to meet even more academy students and experience even more of academy life!
