Students Keep Score at Athletics Competition

On January 23rd and 28th, Salford City Academy students officiated at the School Games Sportshall Athletics competitions.

The students were an enormous help at both the Year 5/6 and Year 7/8 events.  They were tasked with setting up equipment, timing races and leading field events. They also took charge of dealing with all the scoring and determining the results of the competitions.

The students were fantastic ambassadors for the Academy and demonstrated excellent leadership skills throughout both events. Thanks to:

Tia Hall, Lauren Leggott, Lucy Nicholson, Molly O’Neill, Keeley Maggs, Charlie Mechan, Harvey Green, Kane Whitehouse (Year 10) and Lauren Bull, Malek Abusaid and Dan Walton (Year 9).

Malek said:

“It was great to experience officiating different events at the Sportshall Athletics, and it will be really helpful for those of us taking GCSE PE.”

Credit also goes to Keeley Maggs and Kane Whitehouse who showed some impressive amateur photography!
