Our Community

At Salford City Academy, we seek to give students an awareness of the world around them and encourage them to play an active role in their local, national and global communities.  We do this by broadening students' horizons through a varied menu of cultural, educational and sporting activities and visits; the success of this programme has contributed to the Academy gaining ‘International School Status'.

We also recognise that we have a role to play in supporting the families of our students as this in turn will help our students thrive in their studies.  For this reason we signpost our parents and carers to external support agencies and offer parenting support through our family support worker, learning mentor and the pastoral care system.

We are proud to take an active role in supporting our local community.  Our Extended Schools programme provides a range of services and activities which often take place out of school hours.  These services include extensive community use of our state-of-the-art facilities through events such as ‘Over 55's Pamper Days' in the hair and beauty salon to ‘Gym Tots' and ‘Shape-up' which are run with our local partners.

We are working extremely hard through our extended services, to put our school at the heart of the Brookhouse and Eccles community.  We are committed to the academic and emotional well being of each individual in the community - whether they are parents, grandparents, or students past, present or future.
