School Meals

Eurest manage the catering at Salford City Academy and their aim is to provide Healthy Foods for Healthy Minds to help the students perform both academically and physically at their best. They support the use of local bakers, milk farmers, butchers and vegetable growers.

In September 2012 we installed a cashless catering system in the Academy making it easier for parents to manage their budget and to prevent any loss or theft of lunch money. This works by using the childs fingerprint or a swipe card to pay for the food, after the child has loaded money onto their account using two dedicated cash loader machines.

Services Provided

A Breakfast service from 8.00 am until 8.35 am for those students who do not manage to have breakfast before they leave home.  There will be toast, hot sandwiches, toasted teacakes, fresh fruit and hot and chilled drinks.

A mid morning break from 11.00 am until 11.15 am with energy rich snacks and more brain food.

Lunch service will be provided from 1.15 pm until 2.00 pm with an offer of homemade meals, healthy options, sandwiches on a healthy choice of breads.

Clearly Labelled Foods
