Student Sophia Berresford is writing her own future with a set of results netting her a place at the University of Salford.
With an A* in A Level Sociology, a B in English Literature and a Distinction* in BTEC Health and Social Care, Sophia will join the English and Creative Writing course in September.
Sophia said:
"I'm shocked about how well I've done; I've made my mum really proud!"
Sophia's college courses and work experience at a local primary school, helped her learn how children communicate and interact and fuelled her passion for children's writing.
She adds:
"I'd love to become a children's author, it's a hobby at the moment so I'm excited about starting my degree. It's the best course I could find as it includes a module on writing for young people."
