The Drama curriculum at Salford City Academy is designed to inspire and equip students to think innovatively and develop empathy, teamwork skills and confidence. Each term will use a specific theatre style, script or historic event to practise vocal and physical technique pertinent to progressing in Drama.

The curriculum is designed to engage, inspire and challenge students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment and create their own performances, scripts and theatrical design; enabling all students to achieve regardless of ability.

As students progress through the key stages, they will learn to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of Drama; evaluating their own and others’ work, as well as studying the practices of key dramatic figures in depth. They will form a broad understanding of how Theatre contributes to the culture and creativity of the world around them.
