Year 12 Beauty students attended a Dermalogica training session yesterday in the Salford City Academy Sixth Form salon.

Dermalogica specialist Lisa Watson visited the students to spend the day providing industry level training.

The morning session saw the students learning about the Dermalogica industry facial, which is available in salons worldwide.

They also had a demonstration of the Dermalogica product range.

Rachel Swaby, Beauty Teacher said:

“The session was excellent as all the information relates directly to the work the girls do in their course assessments.  All of them were engaged and asked lots of great questions.”

In the afternoon, the students learnt all about selling and retailing as well as the Dermalogica consultation process.

The session helped build up the students’ speaking and listening skills.

Lisa also highlighted the value of social media in the students’ learning as Dermalogica post lots of tips, good practice and training videos to ‘top up’ their industry knowledge.
