SCA House System

Our house system this year has been introduced to contribute to our thriving culture of excellence, build confidence in students and create a sense of belonging. Using a house system has shown to have a positive impact on students motivation. It is inclusive and creates camaraderie whilst developing a variety of skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, problem solving and resilience. It helps to build students character through developing different virtues such as service, volunteering, creativity, critical thinking and moral reasoning. It can also develop students social skills, encouraging students from different year groups to build good relationships, support and encourage one another. The house system engages students in healthy competition, through fun activities and allows them to feel a sense of accomplishment.

Meet our houses and champions below:

Aero House

House Champion: Mr Gornall

"My name is Mr Gornall and I am proud to lead Aero house at SCA. Aero students are polite, courteous, tolerant and diverse in our community and this is one of our core founding values. The Culture of Excellence is a very important aspect of being an "Aeronite"" as people who demonstrate a persistent CoE are the ones that go on to be successful in college and job interviews.

This year, we are focusing on attendance and reward points, ultimately becoming the best house in school! We blow away any competition !!! You can play your part in this by ensuring you attend school, on time, every day - keep track of homework tasks and demonstrate manners and courtesy in all aspects of your lift.

Aqua House

House Champion: Miss Watson

The main priority of Aqua house is teamwork. We have four fantastic prefects who all demonstrate this value every day in school and we are going to work together to embed this into all the fundraising events and competitions we take part in this year. Aqua has had an excellent start to the year by winning the first enrichment day which was centred around our REACT values, as well as raising the most money for Mental Health awareness, and being top for rewards points so far this term. This demonstrates what a brilliant group of students are in Aqua and our goal is to maintain this performance throughout the year.
