Remote Learning

Remote Learning – Working from home when isolating

There are likely to be 4 different ‘types’ of isolation. The type of isolation will depend on the individual case

(1). An individual student has to isolate (any year group)

(2). A group of students has to isolate in (any year group)

(3).  A single class has to isolate in Year 7, 8 or 9

(4). A whole year group has to isolate (any year group)

How to access work…

In all these isolation instances students will be expected to continue with their work at home. All work will be set on MS TEAMS located in the files section, class materials, within the subject channel. Teachers will provide resources and activities from the lessons taking place in the academy. Teachers will also provide links to online platforms like Hegarty Maths. On the Home Learning area of the school website there are instructions for how to download and use MS TEAMS.

A useful links section is provided on the Home Learning area of the academy website with links to student’s email, MS TEAMS and the different online platforms that are used by subjects. There are also links to:

(1). The Oak National Academy

This contains lessons in each subject that students can use. The topics link to the topics students are currently studying in their subjects. Students should select the topic they are studying from within each subject area

(2). Knowledge Organisers

Also, on the Home Learning area of the website is a link to the knowledge organisers that are used in all subjects within the academy. Students can view their knowledge organisers for each subject and use the instructions and videos to learn about, and revise topics

Students can use the links to the Oak Academy and Knowledge Organisers to support their work from each subject on MS TEAMS (Assignments). Links are provided on the Student Work area on the website.
