Doing the Right Thing Award

Congratulations to Oliver, Louise and Kaden

Congratulations to Oliver Lefley, Louise Shaw, and Kaden Worthington who received an award from Salford’s Ceremonial Mayor at event on Thursday 28th April.

The Swinton Rotary Club annual ‘Doing the Right Thing’ Awards asked Salford schools to nominate students who had showcased personal achievements and community spirit.

Oliver and Louise had helped reunite a community member with their mobile phone, when they found the phone on the estate and handed it in to academy staff. The member of the public was so grateful and even rewarded the pupils with some chocolate for doing the right thing.

Kaden was nominated because he has made great personal progress and effort this year.  He has not only improved his grades, particularly in Maths, he has also vastly improved on his school attendance from last year.

Our students attended the ceremony at Salford Civic Centre to receive an award 'for doing the right thing.'

The Ceremonial Mayor presented certificates before invited all Salford students to enjoy light refreshments available in the Mayor's parlour.
