SCA wins bid of £40,000 for Healthy Schools Transition project!

Salford City Academy are delighted to announce that we will be a leading partner in a multi-school, multi-partner transition project funded by Salford City Council and NHS Salford CCG with support from Salford CVS. Salford's Healthy School Transition grant will provide the Academy with almost £40,000 of funding enabling us to deliver social, emotional and mental health interventions through an innovative plot to plate programme.

Laura Dawson, Special Educational Needs Coordinator at Salford City Academy, worked closely with two fantastic community partners, Cracking Good Food and Incredible Education, to write the successful bid. We are delighted to be working alongside four of our local primary schools: Barton Moss, Beech Street, Godfrey Ermen and Westwood Park.

Our project will harness teaching expertise in technology and food, and engage partners with growing and green cooking specialisms. We are excited to offer identified Year 6 students the opportunity to engage in forest school activities, nutritious meal-making and mobile skill-sharing, which will improve learning experiences, life skills and community health.
