School Games Silver Mark

Award for commitment to sports provision and competition

Salford City Academy is pleased to announce a Silver School Games Mark for their commitment to sports provision and competition.

The Sainsbury's School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark.

OfSTED can use the Mark award as part of their inspection framework.

The silver award commends the academy’s commitment to providing a minimum 2 hours high Quality Physical Education for all students, with further opportunities to compete, officiate and lead at borough wide and County School Games competitions.

Lyndsey Nolan, Salford City Academy’s School Games Co-ordinator, said:

“As a host school of the Salford Borough’s School Games it is really important that we act as an advocate for the Sainsbury’s School games and all it has to offer,  leading by example and engaging in all the opportunities the initiative has to offer. This silver award demonstrates exactly that.”
