STAR Workshop

Our Year 7 students have taken part in the STAR workshop today to uncover their talents and think about how these can shape their futures.

The workshop, ran by the Salford Business in Education Partnership (BEP), challenged our students in a number of ways to think about all their positive attributes, from skills to characteristics.

Charlotte Lunt, Salford BEP organiser, said:

“Today is all about focusing on ambition and potential, and encouraging these students to be positive about themselves.”

In a series of fun and interactive activities, students looked at skills, roles, treasures and ambitions in life to highlight their strengths and also areas for development.  Local business volunteers also joined Academy staff to assist the students.

Charlotte continues:

“Not only are we asking students to think about what they are good at and what they could improve on, we are also linking these to their option choices in Year 8 and 9, and even further to possible careers.”

The BEP will return next month so that Year 8 students can benefit from the STAR workshop.
