Year 7 Trip To Halle Orchestra Hits The Right Note

A group of Salford City Academy musicians were treated to an amazing experience at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester as they went to watch the Halle Orchestra for the very first time.

Music Teacher Mrs Parkinson took nine lucky Year 7s with her to watch the world-famous orchestra, with each student learning to play an instrument themselves at school – from the trombone and piano to the cornet and the guitar.

The trip coincided with the group currently studying the different instruments of the orchestra. The concert lasted 70 minutes and was called “Back To Nature”, with every member of the audience receiving a scratch and sniff card to use at certain points of the performance to reflect the jungle, forests and the ocean.

Mrs Parkinson said: “Our students behaved impeccably and really enjoyed the day. We are incredibly lucky to have world-renowned musicians on our doorstep and it was an amazing experience for all of us!”
