Salford City Academy's Family Festival 2025: Bigger and Better!

Published on 27 May 2025

Over 1300 people attended SCA's Family Festival on Saturday 17th May for a jam-packed day of fun

On Saturday 17th May at Salford City Academy, we held our annual Family Festival, which was a huge success! The sun was shining, and over 1300 people attended for a jam-packed day of fun. Thanks to our expanding Community Hub and strong local partnerships, we offered a wide variety of activities and stalls to suit all ages.

Northwest Funfairs brought the excitement with a fantastic selection of rides for everyone to enjoy! Salford City Academy’s car park was transformed into a vibrant funfair, which proved to be very popular on the day. They also provided free inflatable bouncy castles and slides!

Salford Youth Service provided a free 50ft climbing wall, giving children a challenge to enjoy. reater Manchester Police also joined the fun, showcasing a range of police vehicles - including a vintage model - and chatting with visitors about the local area. The fire service made a big impression too, bringing along a fire engine for everyone to explore up close!

There was no shortage of things to see and do, with a wide variety of engaging stalls. Visitors enjoyed everything from face-painting, henna, and jewellery to games and community information stands, including Home-Start. Salford Community Leisure also joined us for the full day, keeping everyone active with sports such as tennis.

One of the highlights of the event was the main stage, where we had a variety of performances throughout the day. There were characters and sing-alongs designed for the younger children. Salford Reds Cheerleaders and Powerhouse Dance troupe both gave brilliant performances. Two of our own members of staff, Miss Brindley and Miss Fitzpatrick impressed the crowd with their singing performances! During the last hour we had a brilliant saxaphone player doing clubland classics - a great end to the day.
