'ON Track to Achieve' Project Continues...

Salford City Academy’s athlete mentor returned this morning to spend some more time with our ‘ON Track to Achieve students.’

The session involved a variety of fun challenges designed to demonstrate the importance of teamwork and communication.

The physical and mental challenges helped to improve our students’ team-building, speaking and listening, and problem-solving skills.

Neil Danns said: “These activities are designed to help these kids ‘think outside the box’ and try new ways of doing things.”

The students will eventually work towards planning and carrying out a community project.

He adds: “We want their self-confidence and self-belief to grow.  To make their community project a success, they must work as a team - ‘winning is in the communication!’ ”

To finish the session Neil spent time with the students individually to find out more about them and to set some personal goals.

The project’s aim is to help these students achieve goals, whether sporting, academic or personal.
