Is your child full of curiosity and always asking "how" or "why"? Do they love science experiments, building things, or solving tricky maths problems? If so, our Pioneer Programme could be the perfect fit!

This special programme is made for students who show strong skills in STEM – that’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – and want to learn even more.

What makes the Pioneer Programme special?

What will my child do on the programme?

Students follow a faster-paced and more focused curriculum in Maths, Science and Technology, while still learning everything in the full national curriculum. They’ll also:

  • Join in STEM events, trips and talks
  • Take part in a weekly after-school enrichment session
  • Work on exciting real-world projects

Let’s take a closer look at what each year includes:

Year 7 – STEM On Track

In Year 7, students get hands-on with "STEM On Track" – an exciting national competition where they design, build, and race their very own go-karts!

Each week, they’ll build their kart step-by-step while learning engineering, teamwork, and design skills. The year ends with a thrilling final race: The STEM Prix!

Year 8 – Future Scientists and Leaders

In Year 8, students explore a range of science-based projects:

  • STEM Leadership Programme – builds confidence and teamwork
  • Environmental Science Project – encourages students to care for the planet
  • Medical Science Unit – introduces students to careers in medicine, from doctors to lab researchers

How do we join?

If your child is starting Year 7 in September 2026, you’ll be invited to register your interest in the Spring term of 2026.
