Key Stage 4 Curriculum Overview

At Salford City Academy students begin Key Stage Four in Year 10. The KS4 curriculum is comprised of a number of core curriculum subjects which are studied by all students. It is also the first time since starting at Salford City Academy that our students have the opportunity to take control of a significant part of their curriculum through the Guided Options that they select in Year 9, leading to a large degree of personalisation to their curriculum during KS4.

Key Stage 4 Tutor Time Programme

In Year 10, the tutor time programme encompasses a weekly values-drive assembly, a weekly PSHE lesson, Drop Everything and Read and academic interventions.

In Year 11, students continue to receive a weekly assembly and a weekly PSHE session. In addition to this students are allocated tutor groups based on their academic data in English and Maths which enables targeted bespoke intervention sessions to take place each morning.

It is our ambition that all students leave Salford City Academy with a broad range of excellent qualifications which empowers students to progress onto the next stage of their educational journeys and ultimately live happy and fulfilling lives. In order to support with this, students in Key Stage Four will receive a comprehensive careers education programme, including visits to colleges and universities, a work experience placement and personalised careers guidance interviews with our Careers Advisor.
