British Values at Salford City Academy

As part of our work at the academy, we are totally committed to the promotion of British Values. We recognise not only the importance of helping pupils to develop academically but also spiritually, morally, socially, and culturally. By actively promoting British Values we prepare students to become respectful, responsible, and tolerant citizens who make an active and positive contribution to the academy, local, and wider community. We aim to ensure that students have a clear sense of right and wrong so that they are well-equipped to make decisions and live fruitful and prosperous lives.

The British Values are:

  • Democracy
  • The rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect
  • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

The information below provides some examples of how we embed and promote British Values across our provision at Salford City Academy. This should not be viewed as an exhaustive list, but rather an overview of some of the key elements of our current programme for promoting British Values.
