The Library and Reading

Welcome to your Library! Whether you’re looking for your next favourite book, need help with homework, or just want to relax on a beanbag with friends, the Library is the space to go.

Opening times:

Before school, during break and lunch, after school (3:00pm – 4:00pm), Monday – Friday.

Do you need a helping hand with your homework? The Homework Club is on in the Library during social times and after school. There will always be a member of staff on hand to offer you help. Plus, the Library has laptops available that are connected to the Academy network for research and homework.

Sora: Library at your Fingertips

As a Salford City Academy student, you get free access to Sora, an online reading app. Simply log in with your school details and start borrowing books, audiobooks, and magazines with a tap!

  • Read anywhere - on your phone, laptop, or school computer
  • Thousands of titles to choose from
  • Your teachers can set reading tasks and track your progress

Borrowing Books from the Library

You can borrow two books at a time for up to two weeks. There are no late fines, but if a book is lost or damaged, we will ask for a replacement or payment via a letter home.

Do you want to keep a book for longer? Just visit the Library and ask to renew it!

We are always adding new titles to our collection. Got a request? Let us know what titles you would like to see added.

We love celebrating your reading success! You can earn Sparx Reader awards such as:

We already have 14 Word Millionaires at SCA, could you be the next?
