The Aspire Programme is the wider personal development of our students in conjunction with the academic education they receive at Salford City Academy. It aims to develop character and values that prepare students for a happy and successful life.
‘We want students to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason.’
Students learn to consider right and wrong, make informed decisions, exercise compassion, and reflect on their thoughts and actions, which will help them to consider the role they play in their community and how they contribute to school and society. In school, character is taught, modelled, and practised through every part of SCA life and is visible throughout the academy in our REACT values: Responsibility, Excellence, Aspiration, Commitment and Teamwork.
Character virtues are embedded within the REACT values and help students develop good character. When students leave Salford City Academy, these character strengths will support them in achieving their ambitions in further and higher education, in their careers, and as successful citizens in society.
Value = principles or standards of behaviour; one's judgement of what is important in life.
