SCA students and Student Council members have been putting their voices into action, helping shape the future of Eccles town centre.
During the autumn term, thrity SCA students were invited to share their ideas about the future of Eccles Town Centre. They explored what they felt already worked well, what could be improved, and what they would love to see in a redesigned space that feels welcoming, modern, and reflective of the area’s rich diversity and cultural heritage.
Later in the term, our Student Council were given a further opportunity to shape the plans. Students reviewed the draft Masterplan and provided feedback on key proposals, including a mixed community hub, redesigned streets and public spaces, and new ways to highlight and protect the historic Grade I listed church and its gardens.
Working collaboratively in groups, the students showed excellent teamwork and confidence. They presented a thoughtful mix of positive comments and constructive suggestions to the team from Salford City Council and Muse, demonstrating not only maturity but also a strong commitment to the future of their community.
