Remote Learning

In the unlikely event of a school closure where remote learning is required, we will remain committed to continuing your child's learning. Students should follow their normal school timetable as per their school day. Work will be accessed online for students to complete at home.

What if my child does not have digital access?

If you have concerns that your child is still unable to study online at home please contact us through our Ask SCA form.

Working Remotely at Home

If students are at home, they can ensure they keep up with the taught curriculum by using the United Learning lessons that have been created for learning at home. Students should use the link below to access these lessons. Knowledge Organisers are also extremely useful and can be used with the activities that are available on the website.

This link contains lessons in each subject that students can use. The topics link to the topics students are currently studying. Students should select the topic they are studying from within each subject area.

Students should use their school log-in details to access the lessons and select the Pupil Curriculum (green arrow) when accessing these lessons.

Homework

At SCA, we want all students to develop excellent learning habits and become confident, independent learners.

Minimum Homework Expectation (for all students)

Every student must complete:

1 English homework
1 Maths homework
1 Science homework

These tasks are all set on Sparx and can be accessed using the same Microsoft login details, making it simple for students and families to manage homework in one place: Sparx Learning.

Homework Years 10 - 11

All KS4 students have been provided with a free GCSE revision guide linked directly to their course specification. These guides form a key part of our KS4 homework programme.

Students are expected to use their revision guides regularly at home to review learning from lessons, practise key content, and close any gaps in understanding. Regular retrieval and revision help to secure knowledge in long-term memory, improving confidence, progress, and GCSE outcomes.
