From engineering to education, students explored a wide range of opportunities at this year’s Careers Fair. Congratulations to Aero House for winning the house competition attached to this event!
Last week we hosted our annual Careers Fair, which is an event designed to help students think about their next steps and explore different career paths. Employers, universities, colleges, and apprenticeship providers were on hand to offer advice and answer questions. Among the organisations attending were BAE Systems, Kier Construction, the University of Salford, and Xaverian College.
The event gave students the opportunity to ask questions, learn about different careers, and hear first-hand what skills and qualifications are needed in various industries. It was also a great way for them to practise their communication skills in a relaxed setting.
Feedback from the providers was really positive, many commented on how polite and engaged our students were, which is great to hear and helps us build strong links for future events.
To encourage students to speak to a wide range of providers, a quiz was handed out on the day. Through this, students learned about topics such as careers in the Royal Air Force, the benefits of university study, and apprenticeship opportunities in engineering and construction.
The quiz also counted towards a house competition, and Aero House came out on top, earning 15 house points for their excellent participation and behaviour. Our Careers Advisor, Mr Byrne, has also chosen a few standout students who showed real enthusiasm and maturity throughout the event. They’ll be receiving certificates and prizes this week in recognition of their efforts.
Thank you to everyone who took part qand helped make the day a success. We're already looking forward to next year's event!
