At Salford City Academy, the Aspire Programme offers students a character education that goes beyond the national curriculum. With exciting trips, rewards, careers guidance, and extra-curricular clubs, Aspire helps students grow in confidence, ambition, and resilience.
This year, two popular clubs are returning to give students hands-on experience in strength and sport.
The Weightlifting Club is back, making use of the school’s excellent gym facilities. Led by a mother and daughter team - one a GB Champion, the other a World Champion - students have the rare chance to learn from elite athletes! Whether students are new to weightlifting or looking to improve their technique, this club offers a supportive and inspiring environment. The club is free to trial until the October half-term (week commencing 27th October). After that, sessions will cost £5 each, paid upfront per half-term.
Also returning is the Tag-Wrestling Club, run by experienced wrestler and coach, Jesse Bradbury. Held every Tuesday after school in the Sports Hall, this club is free to attend and offers a fun, energetic way to build fitness, discipline, and teamwork.
