Principal's Message

Thank you for visiting our website, I am delighted to welcome you to Salford City Academy.

We are proud to be part of United Learning, a group of academies, primaries and independent schools who work by the motto ‘The Best in Everyone’, and we wholeheartedly subscribe to this philosophy.

Salford City is a rapidly growing Academy with outstanding students and excellent community links. From September 2021, we have increased our student entry from 150 to 180 students per year, this is a result of parents choosing our Academy to educate their child. As a result, we have successfully acquired a 2-million-pound renovation project to improve the dining and learning facilities, from December 2021, students will benefit from improved learning and social environments.

We want our students to achieve excellent standards in their work, personal development and behaviour. During the COVID pandemic students have demonstrated determination, resilience, compassion and creativity in their studies and towards each other. They engaged in remote live lessons, participated in well-being activities and supported staff in raising over £1,800 for rewards. Truly inspirational!

All students engage in an aspirational curriculum that allows them to learn more and develop a vast range of skills, including oracy and numeracy.

We continue to foster a love of reading and writing; our DEAR reading programme enables staff and students in all year groups to read and study a range of fictional stories – it’s a great opportunity for staff and students to explore plots, characters and themes.

Running alongside our timetabled lessons, we have an Aspire curriculum, students are given the opportunity to engage in leadership opportunities, enrichment activities, trips and participate in after school activities ranging from sport, science, music to debating and swimming. I really want our students to be involved in as many enrichment opportunities as possible so please encourage your child to get involved!

In Salford City Academy, our students are expected to wear their uniform and achievements with pride - they are excellent ambassadors for the Academy and within the local community. Students are polite and respectful to each other, they make SCA unique and such a positive environment - I am so proud of their fantastic attitude and effort they demonstrate on a daily basis!!

High attendance is an achievement we are all proud of and  we are all committed to continuing to improve standards each and every day!

Staff reward student achievement in assemblies, end of term enrichment events and during parental engagement sessions.

Salford City Academy is an exciting and wonderful learning community, we are a welcoming, diverse and inspiring place that promotes individuality and promotes a positive aspiring culture for all. Should you wish to visit and meet staff and students then please contact me!
